Vodafone & Blackberry in India 18.11.10

Vodafone has had to pay a deposit of £345 million to the Supreme Court in India as part of its on-going legal dispute concerning a tax liability on its purchase of Hutchison Essar (now Vodafone Essar) in 2007.

RIM, makers of Blackberry, which has also been in discussions with the Indian Government over the past three months, has denied it has reached agreement over its encryption system. If it had have, it would then have had to agree the same system for every country which it has steadfastly refused to do so.
