Welcome to my new website

Many of us over 60 are counted out when part-time jobs come up despite our collective wisdom and abilities.

To counter some of this prejudice I have dispensed with sending my CV and have instead created The Complete Picture, an animated ninety second overview of my life to date @ https://vimeo.com/223960456.

My final paper entitled  The Political Economy of Privacy: The Private and The Public in the Digital Age can be read in its entirety at Scribd http://scr.bi/aVxNRd

I hope this paper plays a small role in the continuing dialogue on the importance of privacy in a computational knowledge society. This is a UK and global issue.

This week in Jerusalem, the OECD is seeking to review its 30 year old guidelines for fair information practices before the Data Protection and Privacy Commissioners - http://privacyconference2010.org.

As I argue in my paper, the business of information privacy is outdated in many ways.

At the conference, Alan Westin has said that the idea of privacy as a competitive differentiator is dead because privacy controls are too complex for consumers to understand how to value differences in approach.
