Welcome to my new website

Many of us over 60 are counted out when part-time jobs come up despite our collective wisdom and abilities.

To counter some of this prejudice I have dispensed with sending my CV and have instead created The Complete Picture, an animated ninety second overview of my life to date @ https://vimeo.com/223960456.

EU to take UK Govt. to court over Internet Privacy and Data Laws 01.10.10

You are here: Home / Internet Stuff / Internet Stuff / EU to take UK Govt. to court over Internet Privacy and Data Laws 01.10.10

01 Oct 2010
The European Commission is taking the UK to court after deciding it has failed to bring its laws in line with EU internet privacy and personal data protection requirements, following complaints from users.

They have complained that they have been targeted by advertisers based on analysis of their internet traffic.

The EU Commission noted the UK has no independent authority to supervise communications interception, allows interception when the person intercepting has 'reasonable grounds of believing' consent has been given, and has sanctions only for cases of intentional interception, all of which do not comply with EU rules.
