Welcome to my new website

Many of us over 60 are counted out when part-time jobs come up despite our collective wisdom and abilities.

To counter some of this prejudice I have dispensed with sending my CV and have instead created The Complete Picture, an animated ninety second overview of my life to date @ https://vimeo.com/223960456.

Hands Diagnosed

27 Jul 2010
I've not had a good six months with my health.

In late February, my right knee froze and eventually after a spell in hospital in June, it was decided I should have a new knee (due in October). Though painkillers have helped, the pressure on the left knee subsequently increased and on two out of three days this knee also freezes! Walking even with crutches has been uncomfortable and driving almost impossible.

As if that wasn't bad a month ago or so my hands started to swell and I found dressing and washing painful and difficult most days. I saw the Specilaist today and it looks as if I have rheumatoid arthritis in my hands and shoulders. I've had more tests - blood and urine - and more x-rays and I should know more in about a week's time. In the meantime, I've had a steroid injection for my hands and the pain should relent within the next 48 hours. Here's hoping!!
