I went to watch Jack, my son, play for Richmond Saxons yesterday against the GB Jewish XV which will be playing in Tel Aviv at the 19th Maccabiah Games next year. Conditions were appalling as the rain just kept raining down. Richmond kept playing their usual open game which saw them win comfortably by 50-24. Jack played second row - though he really wants to play wing forward - and managed a try and could have scored a second but unselfishly passed.
The match was at OMT's in Northwood. The school had one all weather hockey pitch and a second all weather soccer pitch plus six tennis courts ALL floodlit. It would be hard to find a state school with such facilities.
