Peter Varney saved Charlton Athletic nearly two years ago when it was 48 hours away from financial melt-down. So, I was surprised when he announced he was stepping down from the Board two weeks ago..........yesterday, we had a catch up lunch at Belle Vista in Blackheath. Thankfully he is staying on the CAFC Trust which is doing so well.
