We had a simply wonderful day at Wimbledon yesterday thanks to a dear friend finding me a couple of tickets late on Tuesday evening.......
We spoiled ourselves at a certain bar before going into watch Serena Williams (v Czink) who was in feisty mood. Her serve is still why she is at the top of the women's game but a three setter or someone who can return some of her serves might cause her problems. We then had a wiser Murray (v Karlovic) with an array of different strokes which he sensibly mixed up against a very difficult opponent who was called for double faulting eleven times. I thought it might go five sets but in the end Murray won in four. The next match between Nadal v Rosol did go to five sets and saw the No.2 go out to a quite brilliant show by the young Czech player. This means Murray has a slightly easier (are there easy games at Wimbledon?) passage to the final (he was due to meet Nadal) but he will want Rosol to have gone out by then......
