Letter in FT 30.08.16
Dear Sir
One of the first things Steve Jobs did on his return to Apple was to close down its foundation.
Apple is sitting on $215bn of cash outside of the USA. Could the Apple Board at least consider using the interest on this to recreate a Digital Foundation for the world?
Commentators are rarely critical of Apple and its extraordinary products but this amount of cash is frankly obscene. Come on Apple why not a Wellcome Trust for digital?
Yours etc
