On Saturday we had breakfast in the shadow of Notre Dame and then visited it (it is celebrating its 850th year) and saw again the wonderful rich rose windows which have recently been cleaned.
We walked the Boulevard Saint-Germain stopping briefly to pay homage at Les Deux Magots and pondered whether we should book Brasserie Lipp for supper. We then spent a couple of hours in the wonderful Musee d'Orsay marvelling at the Impressionist and Post Impressionist galleries. We liked it so much we stopped for lunch there which was a delight.
I poured with rain for most of the rest of the day but we still made it to a packed Champs Elyseees but it was not what it once was. Retail therapy has its downsides.
We did though have an earthy supper at a small family restaurant in a back street.
